Toilet paper creation

Thought this was pretty funny and wanted to share!

I keep a roll of T.P. on my desk instead of tissue (don't ask). I went to use it to blow my nose and when I picked it up I saw this heart shaped design and just had to take a picture of it! The other end is still in a circle but somehow this end is a heart!

Maybe it's Gods way of saying, yeah you have a crappy live sometimes but I love ya anyways and will always be there to help you clean it up!!

Sympathy Cards are hard to make

A week ago my friend called me to tell me her husband had passed away in his sleep....he was only 41. How do you make a card for that? I put it off and put it off till finally I just went into my craft room and started working. I found a base card I had started but never finished and it was exactly what I needed.

I follow Sherry Cheever's blog where she does a lot of AWESOME things and thought it was time to TRY my hand at it. I'm sure there's a name for her techniques but I don't have a clue what you would call it.

So here is the sympathy card I made from my friend JoJo. There are no words I could write that would help but I tried. She knows how much we love her, so I'm hoping the card will give her a little comfort.

Here is what I used:
Cardstock: Kraft, Parisian Breeze DP (retired), Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze (retired)
Ink: Creamy Caramel & Chocolate Chip for sponging
Stamps: Script Background (retired) All Year Cheer I (retired)
Accessories: Spiral Punch Scallop Circle Punch, Button Latte, Sponge, embossing folder, Labels One die cuts, SU Brown Satin Ribbon (retired) hemp twine

As you may have noticed in this and the previous post, I've used lots of Retired SU stamp sets. That's the wonderful thing about their sets, even though they are retired, it doesn't mean you aren't going to use them anymore!

Going Grungy

I've seen some great cards lately where there is a lot going on but it all seems to come together in the end. So I thought I'd try my hand at it and I think it turned out pretty darn good! (if I do say so myself!) :)

I recently got an email from a friend who gave me an unhappy face because I sent a card to her boss with some signed documents in it and she thought it was going to come to her.

When I worked in the corporate world I would ask the caller if he wanted to talk to "the man in charge" or "the woman who knows what's going on." I thought I'd send her a little something to let her know how much we appreciate her because she definitely is the woman who knows what's going on. (We love you Steve!! [the man in charge])

So here is her card....let me know what you think of it!!!

Here is what I used to create this card:

Paper: Orchid Opulence, Barely Banana, Shades of Spring DP (page 25 in Occasions Mini)
Stamp Sets: Versatile Verses (retired) Floral Background (retired)
Ink: Orchid Opulence & Barely Banana (for sponging)
Accessories: Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch (page 10 in Occasions Mini), Button Latte (yellow), Hemp, scallop punch, sponges, spiral punch, embossing folder, Labels One die cut, non SU ribbon (my Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon on page 27 of Occasions Mini hasn't arrived yet so I had to make due!)

Spring is in the Air

I felt like coloring! So I came up with these little 4x4 cards. This is a retired Stampin' Up! set called Drawing On Nature. My friend Kathy McGuire taught me how to color with colored pencils and gamsol. I hope I did her proud.

Stamps: Drawing on Nature
Paper: SU Watercolor Paper, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Accessories: watercolor pencils, gamsol, embossing folders

I hope these make you feel all springy!!
